Vegan BBQ sauce

The barbecue season starts again with the first warming rays of sunshine. As everyone knows, it's not just the salads and vegetables on the barbecue that count, but also the many super tasty sauces. We have a delicious vegan BBQ sauce for you. In this article, you can find out which ingredients you need and how to prepare this delicious sauce for your next barbecue event. Ingredients (10 portions):

2 cloves of garlic

½ onion

1-2 chili peppers

250g tomato paste

4 tbsp coconut blossom sugar

4 tbsp maple syrup

2 tbsp white wine vinegar

2 tbsp vegan soy sauce

1 tbsp mustard

1 tbsp molasses

1 tsp ginger powder

1 tsp turmeric

¼ tsp cloves

¼ tsp nutmeg

1 tbsp margarine

1 tsp smoked paprika

125ml water

Preparation:

  1. Heat a saucepan and add oil
  2. Dice the garlic and onion and slice the chilli peppers. Add everything to the pan
  3. Add the tomato puree, coconut blossom sugar, maple syrup and white wine vinegar to the pan together with the soy sauce, mustard, molasses, ginger powder, cloves and nutmeg and stir everything together vigorously
  4. Pour in 125 ml water and leave to simmer for 20 minutes
  5. Add a little margarine and mix until you have a liquid sauce 
  6. Pour the hot sauce into sterilized jars and seal with a lid

With the BBQ sauce you can, for example, serve delicious vegetable skewers or use it as a spread on bread.
