Vegane Maronensuppe

Vegan chestnut soup

Creamy, nutty, delicious and super easy to prepare. Our chestnut soup with pretzel topping is the perfect Christmas starter or is always perfect when it's nice and cold outside!

Ingredients (4 portions):

500g pre-cooked chestnuts

1 medium sized onion

1 diced carrot

1 stalk celery

750ml vegetable stock

200ml vegan cooking cream  

2 tbsp vegan butter



Bread Croutons


  1. First melt the butter in a large pan and sauté the onions until translucent

  2. Now add the carrot and celery, sauté briefly, add the chestnuts and continue to sauté

  3. Then deglaze with the vegetable stock and simmer over a medium heat for approx. 20 minutes

  4. Then remove the soup from the heat and puree with a hand blender until it has a creamy consistency

  5. Now add the cream, stir well and season to taste with salt and pepper

  6. Top the chestnut soup with fresh herbs and bread croutons

  7. Enjoy!
